BURLINGTON, Vt. - A new report looks at child care cost and availability. The results reinforce what every parent with a young child in Vermont already knows: child care is scarce and expensive.

The study by Let's Grow Kids finds 61% of infants and 20% of toddlers likely to need care do not have access to programs regulated by the state of Vermont.

When it comes to programs deemed "high quality," the numbers are even worse: 85% of infants and 67% of toddlers have no access to high quality regulated care.

Robyn Freedner-Maguire is the campaign director of Let's Grow Kids and she joined "The :30" to talk about the report.
