“Small Talk” videography project to hold public launch
Tuesday, July 21 9:30 AM - 1:30 PM at Lund Early Ed. Program
Let’s Grow Kids will publicly introduce Small Talk—a new effort to capture Vermonters’ stories and opinions about early childhood—on Tuesday, July 21 from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Lund’s Early Childhood Education Program at the Hoehl Family Building, 50 Joy Drive in South Burlington.
After a test run this past weekend at Circus-palooza at Shelburne Museum, Small Talk is hitting the road in a special van, traveling across the state to Vermont’s fairs and other events equipped with video cameras and editing equipment. Let’s Grow Kids staff will interview parents, child care professionals, policy leaders and others about their experiences, their views and their ideas regarding the quality, affordability and availability of child care in Vermont.
Many Vermonters already know that quality child care can often be hard to find and unaffordable. Recent legislation created a Blue Ribbon Commission to look into the issue.
See below for the detailed schedule of Tuesday’s events, which will occur while children and child care professionals are on site. (Opportunities for video and photos of the kids are available under the supervision of a Lund staff member to ensure confidentiality of children in the program. Be warned that nap time is 11:30 a.m. and a napping kid doesn’t care about deadlines; better to come before 11:30.)
A program of Let’s Grow Kids, Small Talk is a partnership with Building Bright Futures, Vermont Community Access Media and The Vermont Folklife Center.
