SENIOR GRANTS ACCOUNTANT - As a key member of the fiscal department, the Senior Grants Accountant helps lead the financial operations of a grants portfolio of approximately $9 million that consists of federal, state, and private funders. The Senior Grants Accountant provides seasoned experience and service to NEKCA as well as guidance, leadership and review of grant requirements to program management and staff. The Senior Grants Accountant is responsible for financial accounting, preparing financial grant reports, helping establish, training others, and updating policies and procedures, preparing grants budgets, understanding and communicating fiscal requirements and constraints associated with different funders, and working closely with programmatic team members to adjust and monitor budgets as needed. This includes preparing and recording asset, liability, revenue, and expenses entries by compiling and analyzing account information. These duties involve the performance of a variety of financial and analytical review and quality assurance activities to ensure compliance with accounting principles, internal, federal and state regulation and policies along with grant financial requirements.
